Breedcow and Dynama software is designed to plan, evaluate and improve the profitability and financial management of extensive beef cattle enterprises. The software is used by beef producers, agribusiness staff, agricultural teachers, consultants, bankers, accountants, lawyers, research and extension officers, and students.

The software applies 4 approaches to beef business evaluation and profitability:

  • 10-year budget projections of herd structure, cash flow, net income, assets, debt and net worth
  • stable state comparison of herd structures and gross margins for different turn-off or husbandry choices
  • comparison of 10-year cash-flow and asset projections, with versus without change, to estimate profitability of change using discounted cash-flow analysis
  • stable state comparison of gross margins for specific breeder and steer groups to facilitate decisions on forced sales or opportunistic trading.

Data files

Data files
These files are example data files for Bcowplus, AECalc, Prices and Huscosts programs, covering Queensland, Northern Territory and the northern part of Western Australia. They provide a starting point when looking at herd performance, and a base against which to measure the impact of husbandry and other herd management changes. These files were developed for and funded in part by Beef CRC, with contributions by government beef extension officers from Queensland, Northern Territory and Western Australia.
