Baconer pig price to feed price ratio for South East Queensland

Based on baconer price and mixed-feed price. The baconer price is the average longer term price received by the producer, taking into account deductions for gradings and before levies, inspection fees and pig transport costs. Feed price is for an average grower and finisher diet and does not include delivery or farm specific extra ingredients.

The ratio is calculated by dividing the pig meat price (in cents/kg hot standard carcase weight) by the feed price (cents/kg). A higher result is better.
