Noxious fish

New fish species have been added to Queensland's noxious fish list.

A noxious fish is one that has been declared as harmful under Queensland law because it is, or may become, a serious pest to native aquatic communities. Noxious fish have characteristics which are detrimental to other fish, aquatic habitats or humans.

Noxious fish cannot be kept, hatched, reared or sold, or taken home for eating or any other purpose. Penalties of up to $200,000 apply.
