Financial assistance

Once a region or individual property has been declared a natural disaster area, DPI&F can assist primary producers in applying for QRAA's Natural Disaster Assistance to access a low-interest loan. Contact DPI&F on 13 25 23 for more information about an individual disaster stricken property (IDSP) assessment.

A range of other direct and indirect support measures may apply, including ex-gratia payments, concessions, extensions or other support from the federal government, Centrelink, the Australian Taxation Office, and the Australian Securities and Investments Commission. For more information, contact the relevant agency, or visit the Australian Government's Disaster Assist website.

Businesses are also encouraged to contact their bank to discuss the impact of the cyclone on their business and to find out what assistance can be provided.

Other assistance

The Australian Government maintains a Disaster Assist website, which features contacts, up-to-date information on assistance packages and links to other relevant websites and information.
