Class 1 weed research projects
Research to support eradication programs for Queensland Class 1 declared weeds is an important focus of Biosecurity Queensland's Invasive Plant and Animal Science unit. We conduct ecological studies, identify effective control options and monitor eradication progress.
In order to reduce the risk of weed importation, Biosecurity Queensland also cooperates with other research institutions and the Australian Centre for International Agricultural Research to facilitate the adoption of biological control options for selected priority weeds in neighbouring countries.
