Queensland Weeds Strategy

The Queensland Weeds Strategy establishes a statewide planning framework, providing clear direction to government, community, industry and individuals for the management of weeds across the state.

The strategy gives a common basis for addressing current and potential problems that impact on agricultural industries, ecosystems, human health and the community's enjoyment of our natural resources.

The Queensland Weeds Strategy is based on a number of accepted principles of pest management, and is linked to the National Weeds Strategy and numerous individual weed species management plans. It also assists in the development of regional natural resource management planning.

The Queensland Weeds Strategy is a statutory requirement under the Land Protection (Pest and Stock Route Management) Act 2002.
