General information

Yelllow bells (Tecoma stans) is a densely branched shrub.

Yellow bells is a Class 3 declared plant under Queensland legislation.

Impacts
  • readily invades native bushland and roadsides

Description
  • a small shrub between 3-8 m tall
  • distinctive tubular yellow flowers
  • has straight pods
Habitat and distribution
  • produces masses of wind-dispersed seeds

Control
  • established specimens are difficult to eradicate with herbicides

Declaration details
  • a declared Class 3 species under the Land Protection (Pest and Stock Route Management) Act 2002
  • sale or supply prohibited
  • may require removal from environmentally significant areas
