Qualifications
  • Master of Science (crop science, plant physiology)
  • PhD (plant ecophysiology and plant modelling)
Background

Dr Karine Chenu is involved in the analysis and modelling of plant responses to environmental conditions. She is currently undertaking research on genotype - environment interactions using crop modelling in cereals.

Dr Chenu’s previous research has focused on plant architecture and leaf growth, development responses to temperature, water deficiency and light intensity. She developed an original approach using 3D-virtual-plant modelling to study the physiology and genetics of plant responses to the environment. Dr Chenu is pursuing research approaches combining ecophysiological modelling and genetic analysis and is particularly interested in genotype-environment interactions operating from organ to crop levels.
