The Queensland turf sector had a forecast gross value of production of $90 million in 2005-06. The state's main production area is in South East Queensland. An estimated 300 Queenslanders are currently employed directly by the turf grass production sector; the broader turf grass sector is estimated to employ approximately 6000 Queenslanders, including landscaping and ground keeping workers.
