Value in Beef

The Value in Beef project is working across the supply chain to assist producers deliver cattle that meet processing and retail needs. The aims of the project are to position North Queensland beef supply chains to profitably supply higher quality eating beef to domestic and international markets. Integral to the success of the project is the creation and strengthening of business partnerships between sectors of the beef value chain with ongoing contact and feedback among participants to lift overall chain performance. It collaborates with beef producers to improve management systems to profitably produce heavier weight-for-age steers and higher value beef products.

The Moganbury Alliance of 20 producers has held workshops and field days to focus on improving eating quality and reducing cost of production. By also working with the Morganbury Meat Company, a quality-based branded product is being produced for the Tableland market.
