Livestock property registration - Multiple land parcels

Owners of a place with one or more head of cattle, horses or other members of the family Equidae (e.g. ponies, donkeys, mules, zebras), sheep, goats, pigs, buffalo, camelids (Arabian camels, llama, alpaca), or 100 or more poultry (including caged birds), must apply to register their property with the Department of Primary Industries and Fisheries (DPI&F) and will be provided a property identification code (PIC).

You are considered an 'owner' by DPI&F if you are the legal owner, lessee, agistee, licensee or occupier in control of the place.

After completing the form, please read the privacy statement and certify this has been read before clicking on the ´submit´ button. Once your form has been submitted, your PIC application will be assessed by DPI&F. You may be contacted by DPI&F if any clarification of information is required.

When your application has been processed, DPI&F will contact you by email or post with confirmation of your PIC.

Please allow approximately five working days for applications where the property has never had a PIC.

If your property already has a PIC, the application will be forwarded to your local DPI&F office for processing. Please contact your local DPI&F for expected processing times.

If your application is for a single PIC with two or more land parcels on different lot on plans, please certify that the business you conduct is a single business unit across all land parcels. If you are unable to certify as below, you must make separate applications for the different land parcels.

Please note that your property registration and PIC will also determine your accreditation under programs such as Livestock Production Assurance (LPA) and your access to national vendor declarations (NVD's).

If the land parcels are more than 50 km from each other, you may also have to make separate applications. This will be assessed by an inspector based on the lot on plan information supplied.
