Queensland Biosecurity, a discussion paper

This discussion paper outlines the challenges affecting the future of biosecurity in Queensland. Your feedback and ideas are important and will be used to help draft Queensland's first Biosecurity Strategy.

Submissions close 30 September 2008.

How to have your say

Download the discussion paper and information paper or request a hardcopy by calling the DPI&F Business Information Centre on 13 25 23.

When submitting your responses, please include your name and a brief description of the capacity in which you are writing (e.g. as an individual landowner or an association representative).

Please also identify the issue/s that you are responding to - either those issues raised in the discussion paper or other issues you would like to raise. You may like to organise your responses in terms of:

  • major biosecurity issues
  • strengths and limitations of existing approaches to biosecurity
  • other comments you would like to make.

Attend a public meeting

Public meetings about the discussion paper are happening around Queensland. Come along and have your say. Your feedback and ideas are important and will be used to help draft Queensland's first Biosecurity Strategy.

Bundaberg

Two meetings will be held in Bundaberg. Anyone with an interest in biosecurity is welcome to participate, although the first meeting will have a focus on the fruit and vegetable sector and the second on sugarcane.

  • Thursday 21 August 2008
    Meeting 1: 3-5pm (Fruit and vegetable focus, including on-farm biosecurity and interstate access)
    Meeting 2: 6:30-9pm (Sugarcane focus, including on-farm biosecurity and sugarcane smut)

Mareeba

Anyone with an interest in biosecurity is welcome to participate.
