National Citrus Canker Eradication Program

On 23 January 2009 citrus canker was declared eradicated from Queensland.

The National Citrus Canker Eradication Program (NCCEP) was established in 2004 to deal with the outbreak of citrus canker in the Emerald district of Central Queensland, Australia.

The NCCEP is a nation cost-sharing program funded 50% by the Australian Government and 50% by the governments of Australia´s citrus-producing states. Queensland´s Department of Primary Industries and Fisheries (DPI&F) is responsible for the management and operation of the program.
