Weedbuster

Weedbuster is a national program that aims to raise awareness about the damage weeds cause. The program culminates with Weedbuster Week, which is held from 30 August to 8 September 2009.

Weeds are invasive plants which spread from where they belong and grow where they are not wanted.

Weeds can cause lots of damage to our native plants and animals, primary industries and human and animal health.

Weedbuster Week highlights this issue and celebrates the contribution of Weedbusters everywhere. The theme of this year's Weedbuster Week was 'grow me instead' which focused on the benefits of planting natives and non-weed garden plants.

The Weedbuster message is now spreading overseas with Weedbuster programs starting in New Zealand and South Africa.

Help us win the fight against weeds and become a Weedbuster today!
