Barrier fences
There are currently two large pest barrier fence systems in Queensland:
- wild dog barrier fence - protects sheep grazing areas of the south and south-west
- Darling Downs-Moreton Rabbit Board (DDMRB) fence - protects agricultural land in the south-east.
A series of wild dog check fences also protect areas of grazing land in southern Queensland from wild dogs.
In February 2005 a memorandum of understanding (MoU) for the management of wild dogs inside the barrier and check fences came into effect.
Fences are administered and regularly checked for damage by the following organisations:
- wild dog barrier fence - Department of Primary Industries and Fisheries
- DDMRB fence - Darling Downs-Moreton Rabbit Board
- wild dog check fences - local government.
