Pig production is an important rural industry that contributes significantly to the Queensland economy, providing employment for more than 6000 people. DPI&F is developing on-farm technologies and practices to minimise the environmental impacts of pig production and is addressing the effective use of feed materials and enterprise management tools to minimise business risk..
