Can people catch equine influenza?

No. Transmission of equine influenza (EI) virus to humans has not occurred during EI outbreaks in horses in other countries.

EI poses no threat to people, however it can be spread from people to horses via infected clothing.

Find out how to stop this happening by following good biosecurity measures.
