Aquaculture

Queensland is an ideal location for developing a diverse aquaculture industry. DPI&F is working to support this potential by:

  • facilitating the uptake of innovation and technology to ensure aquaculture production, harvesting and processing practices are sustainable
  • encouraging investment in the aquaculture sector by taking a partnership approach to industry development planning
  • minimising the risk of impact on fisheries resources from exotic pest fish and disease.
