Paul Low

Associate Director-General
Employment, Industry Development and Innovation

Paul Low was appointed as Associated Director-General, Employment, Industry Development and Innovation in July 2009.

Prior to being appointed Paul was most recently Deputy Director-General Policy and Planning in the Department of Transport and Main Roads and prior to this Deputy Director-General (Planning and Infrastructure) with Queensland Transport.  In these roles Paul oversaw the Government’s integrated transport planning, transport infrastructure delivery, road use management, passenger transport and freight policy activities.

Paul is a qualified town planner and has spent the past 18 years working in public and private sectors having worked for state and local government in Queensland, NSW and Western Australia, Main Roads Western Australia and held senior roles in the consulting sector as well as a large international infrastructure investor and operator..

As Associate Director-General Paul is responsible for the Employment, Industry Development and Innovation arm of DEEDI which delivers:

  • Job creation and increased employment
  • Investment attraction and industry facilitation (eg. LNG)
  • Trade and export opportunities
  • Support for the tourism industry
  • Rural and regional development
  • Innovation and increased productivity within priority industries
