Biosecurity in the Boardroom

Biosecurity in the Boardroom is a collaborative initiative with the Queensland Farmers’ Federation. It aims to:

• raise awareness of biosecurity risks to businesses
• drive engagement across the corporate sector to place biosecurity on their agenda.

Purpose

This initiative will start an important conversation with the corporate sector on how they can play a role in actively managing potential biosecurity risks.

Objectives

• Increase awareness of biosecurity risks across all sectors within Queensland.
• Encourage businesses to consider these risks at an executive level.
• Promote ongoing conversations across sectors and within boardrooms around biosecurity risk management and preparedness.
• Celebrate actions that businesses are currently taking to address biosecurity risks and promote peer-to-peer learning between businesses and industries.

Links to the Queensland Biosecurity Strategy

The Biosecurity in the Boardroom initiative directly supports theme 2 of the Queensland Biosecurity Strategy 2024–2029, which is 'Every Queenslander plays their part'.

This theme ensures Queenslanders, including business leaders, have access to programs that promote positive biosecurity behaviours and embed effective planning and practices.
