At the forefront of agricultural innovation, Queensland Smart Farms are pioneering a new era for farming and primary production.
Our Queensland Smart Farms
Operated by the Department of Primary Industries (DPI), these world-class, DPI-owned working farms are more than just test sites. They’re dynamic research hubs where farmers, researchers, and industry leaders unite to redefine what’s possible in agriculture.
- Central Queensland Smart Cropping Centre (CQSCC) – A hub for dryland and irrigated crop innovation in Emerald. This 1270-hectare facility leads research on grains, pulses, cotton, automation, and precision agriculture.
- Gatton Smart Farm – A horticultural powerhouse in the Lockyer Valley, driving innovation in robotics, protected cropping, postharvest practices, and supply chain technologies.
